Our Location in Sooke, BC

Windjammer Seaside Cottage is located a short 5 minute drive from Sooke's village center, on Billings Spit. Sooke is only a short, scenic, 40 minute drive from Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia.

Sooke boasts some of the best salmon fishing in the world. Halibut, rock cod, and ling cod are common in the waters around Sooke as well. Whale watching charters allow you to see some of the local sea life. Ocean kayaking tours will also take you about the area to discover the Sooke Harbour and Basin. We can help you arrange your fishing trips.

The Galloping Goose Trail is a favorite among cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders, and leads up to the nearby Sooke Potholes in the Sooke River, where people swim in the hot summer months.

Many beaches and parks are located in and around the Sooke area, including French Beach (playground/picnic area), Gordon's Beach, Botanical Beach, Matheson Lake, Roche Cove, and Whiffen Spit.

Spend a day on any one of the local golf courses or go gold panning at Loss Creek and further up the Sooke River. While staying in Sooke, shop the local gifts and crafts stores and browse the studios of many local artisans on a self directed studio tour. Dine at the world famous Sooke Harbour House.

To get to Windjammer Seaside Cottage, take hwy 1 west from Victoria to the Colwood/Sooke exit 10. Drive 25 km west of hwy 14 (Sooke Rd.) through Colwood. Turn left onto Kaltasin Rd. (across from Saseenos Elementary School). Follow Kaltasin to the end, and make a left onto Billings Rd. Look for the great hedge and Windjammer Seaside Cottage sign on the right.
